First ‘Cinnamon products’ Boutique inaugurated

‘Cinnamon Legends Boutique’, Sri Lanka’s very first desinged cinnamon gallery, was opened recently at Lotus Road, Colombo 1.
Owned and managed by ‘Cinnamon Legends’, an International ISO 9001:2008 Quality Systems Management Certified Company. This is the first company in Sri Lanka that developed value added products in Cinnamon and from now onwards providing the essence of good to the people of Sri Lanka through their first boutique shop.
During the inauguration ceremony Upuli de Silva, Managing Director of Cinnamon Legends said their vision is to be the most admired and preferred Cinnamon Brand in the World. Cinnamon Legends is committed to be the most admired and caring provider of value added Cinnamon products that add vitality, enjoyment and health benefits to the day to day life of people around the world.
‘Keeping into the mind about the health benefits we come up with different Cinnamon products for hand care, foot care, fragrances etc. which has no side effects at all and 100 per cent pure products made with true Ceylon Cinnamon’.
She added Cinnamon is feel-good spice with lot of nutrition and it has a lot of health benefits, it helps you to control your blood sugar regulation. Recently, in a research led by U.S. Department of Agriculture, scientists found that antioxidant-rich cinnamon extract helped to reduce risk factors associated with diabetes and heart disease.
Joint Managing Director of Cinnamon Legends Nihal de Silva said that it was his father G. P. De Silva who started the venture at the age of 18 after finishing his school education. The trust and the courage he gained from his father who started to buy and sell Cinnamon in the local market in 1942 and became the world’s largest Cinnamon exporter in the 21st century.
Following the demise of G. P De Silva, Nihal along with his wife Upuli is taking all necessary steps towards the improvement and maintenance of the quality standards of production in factories and to the suppliers to be the Global leader in Cinnamon. Their joint initiation was able to get them an ISO Certificate, which is the mark of best quality.
The Cinnamon Legends Handmade Chocolates, which is an innovation of Upuli De Silva, will sail to a new taste in the world market to claim an undisputed market leadership in the value added segment in this century, he added. The store has been inaugurated by Chief Guest Dilith Jayaweera, Group Chairman of George Stuart & Company.
Cinnamon Legends is the sister company of G. P. De Silva and Sons International (Pvt) Ltd., which is established by late G. P. De Silva in the year 1955. Today, they are meeting over 90% of global demand for true cinnamon annually shipped to Mexico, South America, USA, UK, Middle East and Europe.
