New farewell song for Fr. Bonnie

‘Thuthi Mal Kalambak’ (Thanking with a bouquet of flowers), a song created by veteran lyricist Lalith Anthoney Perera and musician Mahesh Kumar Silva as a tribute to outgoing Rector of St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa- Father Bonnie Fernandopulle was presented at the farewell ceremony held at the College Auditorium last week.
Lyrics of the song are by Lalith Perera, the idea and music composed by Mahesh, who created the famous Sebs Back to School song.
Father Bonnie Fernandopulle relinquished his duties St. Sebastian’s College after 13 years of yeomen service, where he has made the school prestigious and is recognised as one of the best schools in the country.
‘It was our duty to attribute all his good work and effort he has rendered to developed the College to the present day standard. So we decided to create a special song for father Bonnie. It is a catchy tune and I hope everybody likes it’ explained Lalith about their effort.
The new song is now out on air and could be found on ‘you tube’ for listening pleasure.
‘This is not a commercial project hence the song is not available for sale. But the video CD will be out soon for all Sebs to grab it’ Mehesh said.
