‘Raymonda’ at Russian Centre

The DVD screening of famed Russian Bolshoi Ballet ‘Raymonda’ will be held at the the Russian Centre in Colombo on Friday 29th April at 3.00pm.
‘Raymonda’ is a ballet in three acts, four scenes with an apotheosis choreoographed by Marius Petipa, with music by Alexander Glazunov,his Opus 57.
First presented by the Imperial Ballet at the Imperial Mariinsky Theatre on January 19, 1898 in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
The Ballet was created for the benefit performance of the Italian ballerina Pierina Legnani, who created the title role ‘Raymondi’.
