Nihal Siriwardena releases ‘Nisala Gantherea’

Nihal Siriwardena, a talented Sri Lankan musician and singer based in Melbourne has become immensely popular with his newest song ‘Nisala Gantherea’. Nihal recorded this song penned by Grecian Navaratne and music composed by Priyantha Nawalage during a short visit to Sri Lanka and it was broadcast on Rupavahini channel recently. The visual of the song created by Sajini Lakshapathiarachchi, late radio personality Nimal Laskhapathiarachchi’s daughter is now available on You Tube. During his stay in Sri Lanka, Nihal also has done two more duets with Samitha Mudunkotuwa and Nelu Ashikari.

Priyantha Nawalage, Shehan Galahitiyawa and Navaratne Gamage involved in penning and composed music for them. So far Nihal has done eight songs and they are being aired in Sri Lanka and Melbourne televisions and radios.

His latest song ‘Nisala Gantherea’ is now being broadcast on community TV channel, Melbourne Channel 31 and 3ZZZ radio.

Hailing from Kadawatha Kirillawala, Nihal was greatly influenced by his father who was musician too.

‘With the encouragement I got from my father I joined a musical band at the age of 17 and started my musical career. However after settling in Australia, I was involved in music and singing during whatever the free time I got,’ Nihal told TV Times.

At present Nihal is coordinater for all Sri Lankan bands visiting Melbourne for performances.

Nihal was thankful to Wilfred Siriwardena of 3ZZZ Radio channel in Melbourne, Grecian Navaratne, Nilanga Silva, leader of ‘Speed’ band and others who supported him in his musical journey.
