Outstanding young sportswomen of Sri Sangamitta Girls National School Matale (formerly B.M.S.) were awarded School Colours and certificates of excellence in recognition of their outstanding performances in the field of sports during the year 2014-15, at their Colour Awards Ceremony held recently at the school auditorium.

Mr. Daljith Aluvihare, leader of opposition Matale Municipal Council graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while a distinguished old girl of the school – Kemangani Aluvihare Madawala hockey player of National and International fame was the guest of honour. Sports diadem is the highest award, and the recipient for this prestigious award was Anjali Amaradasa, who excelled in Netball, Table Tennis and Athletics.
