FFSL injects a score of Soccer coaches into the system
View(s):A two-week training programme was conducted for 21 local coaches by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) in collaboration with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) at the Baddegana Football Complex. After the programme, held from March 20 to April 2, the 21 coaches, who are currently involved in local football, received the AFC ‘C’ License in Coaching.
The programme was conducted by a qualified AFC Instructor from Iran, Nader Arabi, who stated that the participants should work towards developing football in Sri Lanka through the knowledge which they have gained from it. ”The participants, who are currently active coaches at clubs and schools, were recommended by FFSL officials, namely the President, Secretary General and Technical Director.
Dr. Lal Ekanayake and Referee Director A.M. Yapa also gave their contribution as instructors for the programme,” the FFSL stated issuing an official communiqué. ”Dr. Ekanayake covered the lessons of Nutrition, Psychology, Physiology and Anatomy while Yapa shared the knowledge of Laws of Game to the participants. Technical Director of FFSL Chaminda Steinwall organised the programme with the support of Technical Department and FFSL sponsored the coaching course,” it added.
