WISTA Sri Lanka to host WISTA international meeting in Colombo
View(s):WISTA Sri Lanka this year is playing host to the “WISTA International Spring Board Meeting” being held in Colombo on May 5. Women’s International Shipping & Trade Association (WISTA) is an international networking organization for women at the management level who are involved in the maritime transportation business and related trades. The meeting will be attended by the WISTA International President, Karin Orsel, along with the other board members. This meeting will be followed by National WISTA Association Presidents’ meeting, the local association said in a media release.
“We are delighted that WISTA International board has chosen Sri Lanka to have its board meeting. It will be a great opportunity for our local shipping community to network with these eminent women from the global maritime industry,” said Shehara Jayawardana, President of WISTA Sri Lanka. International board members will be joining the WISTA Sri Lanka and CASA Asia Shipping Conference which will be held on May 6. “For the first time in Sri Lanka a shipping conference is being held with a majority of female speakers,” the association said. With its 1800 members from 33 countries, WISTA supports the creation of international business relationships amongst its members.
