40 teams in Kurunegala district Division III tourney

View(s): A record forty teams have been entered for the Kurunegala district division III Cricket tournament this season. This annual tournament is organised by the Kurunegala District Cricket Association. The teams have been divided in to eight groups and the preliminary round matches will be played on league basis.
The winners of each group will go in to the quarter-finals which will be played in knock out basis. Four teams have been selected for the provincial tournament after the conclusion of knock out stage. The draw was held at the Welagedara Stadium board room recently in the presence of Aruna de Silva and Sunil Mohotti, executive members of Sri Lanka Cricket. The second round matches will commence in July.
