Game of thrones returns with more twists
Jon Snow is really dead, but after months of hysteria no one seems to care anymore. This week, Game of Thrones kicked off its sixth season. Fans have been going crazy because we have finally come to the moment when the show outpaces the book and we get a glimpse of what’s coming up. And just in case you needed us to say it: SPOILER ALERT!
DaenerysTargaryen is going to VaesDothrak
Deep in the desert of Almeria, on a set that took over a month to build, the cast and what seemed like hundreds upon hundreds of Dothraki extras descended on a location that can only be the Dothraki city known as VaesDothrak.VaesDothrak is the place where the widows of khals, known as dosh khaleen, are sent to live out their rest of their lives. The show seems to be setting up the Dothrakihoardes to follow Dany. Reports of the set being burned to the ground by the film crew have led to gleeful speculation that Dragon, last seen napping, is going to be in a filthy mood when he wakes up. Dany has been known to survive fire unscathed – will this be the way she wins the khalasar for the second time?
A new red priestess arrives
We saw Melisandre’s true form in the first episode of the new season, but the Lord of Light reportedly has more surprises in store. Melisandre looks exhausted and more than a little depressed but that doesn’t mean she is about to be replaced – a leaked audition tape shows another red priestess travelling to Meereen to offer her services to Tyrion and Dany. It looks like Tyrion takes her up on her offer but a leaked audition script reveals that Varys is likely to find himself unable to work with someone so committed to the dark arts.
“What about Margaery?”
Margaery Tyrell is set to breathe the fresh air somewhere around episode 6. Though the Lannisters are said to be ready to use force, the High Sparrow is apparently perfectly happy to let her go. Has Margaery confessed? Fans carefully following leaks and images from the set say she not only confesses and repents but becomes a Sparrow herself. The implications for royal politics are likely to be fascinating.
Arya becomes an assasin
We’ve seen Arya get off to a pretty pathetic start, but the blindness visited upon her may lead to greater things. Her stunt double has been seen as part of a long chase, jumping over rooftops and all but flying – is this Arya regaining her sight or tapping into awesome new abilities? Either way, she is likely to be sent into the field this season. A chapter called Mercy from the book will make it to the show, with Arya joining a troupe of players on assignment.
