‘Hathe Wasama’ narrates around money and morals
View(s):Veteran journalist, teledrama director, writer and lyricist Rodney Vidanapathirana’s teledirection ‘Hathe Wasama’ is now being re-telecast every Saturday at 9 pm on Siyatha TV.
The popular teledrama was written by late Daya Rajapakha based on a comicstory he created and it is played by renowned cast including late Tony Ranasinghe and Tissa Abeysekera. For his performance Tony was nominated for The Best Actor award at Sumathi Tele Awards and Jagath Chamila was nominated for the Best up and coming Actor award.
Camera was handled by M. A. Gafoor and others in the cast are late Raja Sumathipala, Amerasiri Kalansuriya, Nishshanka Diddeniya, Jayantha Bopearachchi, Suneetha Wimalaweera and Ariyasena Gamage. Art director is Ranjith Ransinghe and music director is Nimal Gunasekara and produced by sarath Suriyabandara.
Set in 1950s the story revolves around a remote village in a hilly area and narrates around a community where moral values are disregarded against monetary gains. The protagonist of this story is Sergant Banda who hailed from a high caste family from the upcountry. But there are clashes between his private life and duty.
