Rukmalgama CC ends league on a high note
Rukmalgama Cricket Club completed their quota of league matches on a winning note, beating Noel Dias CC by seven wickets, in the ongoing Colombo District Cricket Association (CDCA) Division III 50 Over League Tournament 2016, at the Poregedera Grounds, Padukka. Noel Dias CC, batting first was restricted to 127 in 34 overs by the pace-spin combination of Heshan Wijesinghe (3 for 35), Adil Hafaz (2 for 32) and Ranjan Ranatunga (3 for 28) Rukmalgama CC shed little sweat on reaching their target in 17.3 overs, via an unbroken 3rd wicket stand of 70 runs between Sahan Wijeratne (27 not out) and Manoj Jayaweera (31 not out) With this win, Rukmalgama CC led by Shyamal Perera were qualified for the 2nd round of the tournament; they finished with three wins and a loss; their other two wins were against Old DS Senanayake and Ananda CC.
