Finco launches products tackling damp walls in homes
Three innovative water proofing chemical solution products for households – the Mapestop, Masterpel 777 and the Magic Box solutions were launched by Finco Engineering Ltd Colombo at a ceremony held at the Jaic Hilton Colombo recently.
Finco Engineering (PVT) Ltd’s Marketing Manager Vindhya Fernando said the three new products will bring a lasting solution for many homes with the problem of eliminating rising dampness on walls, etc. She said Finco Engineering which had been operating for the last three decades is a leading supplier of construction chemicals and engineering solutions to the industry professionals. She said Finco has now focused on the retail market to bring its valuable expertise to the homes under the “Finco to your Home” concept.
Deputy Chairman of Finco Group Nishan Weerasooria said that Finco is today the leader in security equipment, steel and in office furniture. “Finco was formed in the 70’s and we progressed into land sales and finances. Today after 52 years we are proud to say that we are a leading private organisation in the country comprising several clusters in our group.” He said the newcomer to the group is Finco Green Energy that has already added 3 MW of solar power to the national grid. “Although the company is just three years old this was a big achievement to us,” he said.

Finco Ltd Managing Director Rohan Delgoda said that Finco has provided water proofing solutions to large construction companies. Finco was instrumental in repairing the reservoir at Sapugaskanda which was abandoned for almost two decades due to inability of funding and finding a suitable repair company. He said the National Water Supply and Drainage Board this year assigned the company another task of repairing a four million gallon water tank built in 1956. The Central Bank and the World Trade Centre buildings damaged during the conflict was also repaired by Finco. “We were instrumental in repairing the Laxapana Hydro Power project after 42 years.so involved in the Uma Oya project.”
