‘Age Asa Aga’- ‘Let Her Cry’,  Asoka Handagama’s latest film direction, a dilemma of a University professor, his wife and young girl, who comes in between their lives is now being screened at Regal Colombo and other CEL circuit cinemas around the country.

The 8th film by Handagama brings back veteran actress Swarna Mallawarchchi, who completes 50 years of her life in cinema in this June.  With Swarna, the veteran Bengali Actor, Dritiman Chatterji plays the lead male role.

Music for ‘Let Her Cry’ is by Chitral Somapala, edited by Ravindra Guruge, cinematographer is Channa Deshapriya and colourist is Dinindu Jagoda.

A university Professor appears to be having an affair with a young female student; his behaviour threatening the carefully established routines of his middle class family.

Through their unusual correspondence, the student keeps the professor›s wife informed of the affair and activities. The professor seems torn and confused as he at times denies and then admits to seeing the girl. The wife caught in the middle is not sure what to believe. The young student claims she is willing to die for their love and wants the Professor at any cost. As her carefully composed life starts to unravel, the wife makes the ultimate decision.

The film wsa selected to represent World Cinemascape – Masters’ at the 17th Jeonju International Film Festival – South Korea held between April 28 and May 7.
