31 bln transactions on Oracle Cloud daily through over 70 mln users
Local businesses are benefiting from Oracle’s Cloud portfolio, making it easier and faster to adopt new innovations and provide greater predictability. At an Oracle Day event this week, Oracle Sri Lanka showcased the breadth and depth of Oracle Cloud in modernizing data, data warehousing, marketing and digital processes. Speaking at the event, Regional Director for Oracle Applications Chandita Samaranayake said there are over 31 billion transactions on Oracle Cloud everyday with over 70 million users daily. With 19 data centres in over 200 countries, 19 of the 22 top cloud providers run on Oracle. He said Oracle Cloud has world class security and compliance and offers a platform for growth.
Oracle recently introduced a range of new Oracle Cloud services to help companies transition to the cloud. The new services enhance Oracle’s extensive Cloud portfolio in Sri Lanka across all layers of the stack, Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS0 and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). The latest additions to the portfolio include Oracle Big Data Cloud, Oracle Big Data Discovery Cloud, Oracle Database Exadata Cloud and several others. Cloud’s modern user interface which delivers embedded analytics, contextual social collaboration and a device-independent mobile experience to make the solution familiar and easy to use. Addressing the event, Manager of IT Business Systems at SriLankan Airlines Gayanika Gunasekera said the company has been an Oracle customer of ERP from 1999. She explained that the Cloud service enables on time data which is beneficial for the management of SriLankan Airlines. Head of IT at Capital Alliance PLC said security is most important for his company which is why they went with the Cloud solutions.
