Gala awards night to recognise 30 winners of Cinnamon Travel Blogger Awards
View(s):Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts in partnership with the national carrier SriLankan Airlines are gearing up for the up-coming Travel Bloggers Conference on June 7th at Cinnamon Grand in Colombo. The success of the first conference in 2014 has paved the way for an even bigger experience this year as the conference is set to be coupled with the Cinnamon Travel Blogger Awards. The gala awards night will be the first of its kind recognising the world’s leading travel bloggers for their invaluable contribution to the world of travel, Cinnamon Hotels said in a media release. Nearly 1000 submissions were received by the judging panel consisting Jens Thraenhart -Founder of Digital Innovation Asia (DIA); Mario Hardy – CEO at Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA); Jan Tissera – President of TravelClick International; Sally Davey -Founder of Tripbod.com; Debbie Hindle – Managing Director of Four Travel and Dileep Mudadeniya – Head of Brand Marketing at Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, who shortlisted 30 finalists for the 10 categories being awarded.
Ten of the nominees will go on to be awarded in the categories of Travel Blog of the Year, Best Up-coming Travel Blogger, Best Travel Writing Blog, Best Travel Photography Blog, Best Travel Video Blog, Best Food Blog, Best Luxury Travel Blog, Best Airline Blog, Best Optimization of Social Media and Best Responsible Tourism Blog. “The gala awards night will not only see the 10 winners pick up their awards;the contemporary Sri Lankan themed event scheduled to be held on the night of the conference promises to bring together a selection inspiring fusion performances and gourmet cuisine for an unforgettable night. This international awards ceremony will be the first of its kind not only for the global blogging community but for Sri Lanka as well. As such Minister John Amaratunga, Minister for Tourism Development will also be addressing the audience at the event,” the release said.
