Krasna Chamber Ensemble concert in memorable performance
Leading violinist Ananda Dabare’s chamber orchestra comprising young musicians gave audiences a performance to remember at the Lionel Wendt on June one.
Whether it was Brandenburg Concerto No.3 in G major (Bach , Divertimento in D major (K.136) (Mozart) or Serenade for String Orchestra op.48 in C major (Tchaikovsky), Dabare no stranger to the local classical music scene and his young orchestra gave a notable performance.
The Krasna Chamber Ensemble concert saw solos by Dabare– Concerto in F minor (Bach J. S) and Oboist Hasitha Pathirana, oboe Concerto in A minor(Vivaldi).
Hasitha the principal oboist of the symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka (SOSL) and the Chamber Music Society of Colombo (CMSC) is currently a senior lecturer in TESL at the University of Keleniya and a speech and drama examiner at the Institute of Music Speech and Speaking Skills.
The group received a well deserved standing ovation from an appreciative audience at the end of a concert, that saw the classical pieces well executed.
Through his orchestra, Ananda Dabare, hopes to give an opportunity to young, eager and talented musicians to excel in the field in Sri Lanka.
