Veteran designer launches diploma in modelling

Veteran designer/ Choreographer Senaka De Silva in collaboration with the International Academy of Beauticians ( IAB ) has launched a diploma in modelling with the hope of building and developing the fashion industry as a whole.
The launch that was held on May 26 at the IAB auditorium with three of Senaka’s former students, beauty queen Shivani Wasagam, actress Sangeetha Weeraratne, model Premila Silva, 2015 Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe winner Thilini Amarasooriya and well known fashion photographer Upul Mahawalage also present.
Speaking at the launch, Sangeetha said that she believed Senaka’s decision to train young girls to be models will bring out good models, which the industry is lacking today. With Senaka’s training the fashion industry will have a lot to choose from, she said.
The modelling diploma course offered by the IAB and Senaka De Silva has a systematic syllabus, which covers subjects such as body shaping, posture, facial expressions, modelling styles, model attitude and etiquette etc.
