Veteran NGO activist Dulan de Silva honoured by UN association
View(s):Dulan de Silva, Executive Chairman of Give2Lanka, former Executive Chairman of Berendina Group and founder of CEO SEEDS was recently bestowed as an Honorary Fellow of the UN Friendship Organisation at a function held in Colombo. Among the service oriented work Mr. de Silva has pioneered in meriting this honor, were the establishment of the first best practices micro finance institute in Sri Lanka (SEEDS) in 1986, which then went on to become the biggest Sri Lankan NGO in the 1990’s. He also established and headed the Berendina Group for 23 years. Berendina is currently the largest Sri Lankan NGO group and Berendina Microfinance, by itself, is the largest Sri Lankan NGO.
