AMDT makes a fashionable statement
May 15 was a memorable day for the Academy of Multimedia Design and Technology (AMDT) as they held their first show featuring the work of some 50 students who are to graduate this year.
The day began with a workshop conducted by Chamley Ariyachandra, Managing Director at Benchmark Innovation. The glamour-filled evening saw an elegant fashion show, introducing the designs of skilled students.
There were awards for the Most Popular Artist, Best Presented Portfolio and Best Artist which were presented at the Graduation Ceremony held at Cinnamon Lake Side on May 23.
Billed as being built by Designers for Designers, the Academy of Multimedia Design and Technology, established in 2005 is an Edexcel (UK) accredited design academy, which offers BTEC Level 5 HND art and design courses in Sri Lanka.
The works of two AMDT students Chamishka Gamage and Sandakelum Galabadaarachchi have been specially selected and screened at the International Animation and Design Festival, which shows the success of the institute in delivering qualified individuals.
Papyrus papers have rendered their help as AMDT’s co-sponsor and TNL, as the media sponsor.
