Popular resort Waters Edge recently launched the construction of an authentic Sri Lankan restaurant in the hotel premisesA launch of an authentic Sri Lankan restaurant will only add to the many plans underway to showcase the Kotte area as a heritage site.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was held at the hotel premises to mark the launch of the construction.
Located at the edge of the Diyawanna Oya in a breezy tranquil setting, the Sri Lankan restaurant will be a unique feature at Waters Edge. With a forecast of 2.5 million tourist arrivals to the country, an outlet of this nature would provide the perfect glimpse of traditional culture, customs and cuisine of the country.
‘The authentic Sri Lankan restaurant will be a one of its kind venue promoting a unique dining experience to locals and tourists alike’ said Rohan Fernandopulle General Manager of Waters Edge.
‘We are eagerly waiting to welcome everyone to experience and indulge in true Sri Lankan hospitality’ he added.
In addition to the guests, the chairman and the board of directors, the hospitality teams and project implementing and monitoring teams of Waters Edge participated in the religious rituals.
