All eyes are on the contingent which is heading for a major sporting event which is held every four years. A large number of officials are set to visit this country which exceeds the amount of athletes by a staggering margin. The cost of the return air-ticket to the venue of this major sports event is in the region of Rs. Four Lakhs. No expences are barred for these officials who are obviously seeking a joy ride.
UNBECOMING COACH
A coach of a popular sport is under suspension as he wants the lads that he is coaching to come to his home to give extra coaching and advice. The lads are however fighting shy of visiting his home as his conduct on the field towards these youngsters is not so becoming.
WHAT ARE HIS QUALIFICATIONS?
Who is this Big Shot who sits at the sport’s meetings when he has no qualifications towards the sport at all? Recently he informed that a coach from Kiwiland will be coming to Sri Lanka to start coaching sessions with the oval ball here. Does this make him eligible to head the sport’s head table?
MONEY, NO PROBLEM
Talking of expenses this particular sport is apparently not worried about the money they are spending. So far they have a host of foreigners ranging from coaches to physiotherapists. The amount off foreigners at their beck and call amounts to over ten. Money, apparently, is no problem to this sport.
THROWING HIS WEIGHT AROUND
There is this rider who is trying to be at the helm of this sport. He is supposed to be a relative of the Big Man in sport and he is now throwing his weight around as he is now trying to hold an AGM which has not been held since 2013, this year. He has not been successful at recent meets and now he wants to call the shots from the top most post.
WHITE FLAG
Apparently the white flag is fluttering over two opposing factions at a popular sport. Now the two sides are getting together and showing respect to each other’s suggestions forgetting the old rivalry which existed after the AGM. All this augurs’ well for the sport.
