Two pugilists from MAS Holdings were adjudged the best boxers in the men’s and women’s categories of the Layton Cup Boxing Meet which concluded at the Royal MAS Arena boxing ring in Reid Avenue yesterday.

MAS Slimline’s P.V.D.D. Saparamadu came out as the best in the men’s category while K.A.K. Hansika MAS Unichela Panadura was adjudged the best boxer in the women’s category.

The best losers awards in the men’s and women’s categories were won by A.N.G.I. Bandara of Navy and K.H.E.G. de Silva of Hela Holdings a newly formed boxing club in Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile pugilists from MAS Slimline and MAS Unichela came out on top in the two categories with MAS Slimline winning five gold medals in the men’s category and MAS Unichela six gold medals.

In the men’s Army and Navy boxers bagged three and two gold medals while Air Force and Hela Holdings one each. In the women’s category Hela Holdings, Police, Air Force and Army won one gold medal each.
