Thai investors meet President
View(s):A group of Thai investors met President Maithripala Sirisena recently. The group was led by Thailand’s Ambassador Nopporn Adchariyavanich and it included Siam City Cement Chief Executive Officer Siva Mahasandana and Vice President (Saraburi Operations) Amornasak Torot.
Chandana Liyanage, Senior Vice President (Finance and Controlling), Mangala Yapa, Managing Director of Agency for Development, T.M.K.B. Tennakoon, Secretary to the Ministry of Industries and Commerce and Asela Iddawela, Chairman of Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation also participated in the discussion the team had with the President. The Thai delegation said their would be more Thai investments in Sri Lanka as they felt Sri Lankan economic outlook is positive compared to some other countries in the region. Siam City Cement Company recently took over Holcim (Lanka), a leading cement company in Sri Lanka.
