‘Colombo Gourmet Week’ at GFH
View(s):‘Colombo Gourmet Week’ is the very first week-long food festival in Sri Lanka, celebrating: food, wine and produce. The event is organised by Wine World, the premium online beverage and spirits concierge service, in association with Galle Face Hotel.
The events will commence on the 22nd of August and conclude on the 28th of August, 2016.
‘Colombo Gourmet Week’ is all about cuisine and its main aim is to transform Sri Lanka into a culinary destination. The organisers are diligently working on bringing the most knowledgeable individuals in the world of food and beverage to explore international cuisine, ensuring that to create a place for Sri Lanka in the world of gastronomy.
The week of food and beverage exploits will kick off on August 22nd with tasting counters which will be hosted by the pool side and on the open and spacious verandas of the Galle Face Hotel.
The second stage of festivities involve a selection of curated dinners that will take place from August 23rd to the 26th of August at various locations within the hotel, from the newly opened restaurant ‘Sea Spray’ to the luxurious ‘1864’. These dinners will be open to both ticket holders and invitees and will celebrate the beverage and cuisine from four big wine making countries namely: Chile, Italy, Australia and South Africa. Each night will feature one of the international guest chefs who will work alongside a beverage expert from the region.
On the 27th will be hosting semi private sessions for individuals of the trade.
The finale will be held on the 28th of. The event will be open to the public from 11.00 am with a The Big Brunch featuring cuisine prepared by the guest chefs.
