Lankan born singer performs in Melbourne
View(s):Young singer Jude Jay mesmerised the crowd with his performance of two hits of Engelbert Humperdinck and one of Michael Buble at the dinner dance at the Springvale town hall in Australia earlier this month. It was a surprise guest spot appearance where he did a Las Vegas style floor show singing songs one would not expect from a 20-year-old, keeping the 600+ audience spellbound.
It all began when Jude was first introduced to the music of Elvis Presley, Engelbert Humperdinck and Tom Jones by his father Dr.Gurusinghe when he was around five. A memorable moment was when his father, a medical officer working at the Bandaranaike international airport at the time met the legendary king of romance Engelbert Humperdinck when the singer performed in Sri Lanka in 2005.
After moving to Melbourne in 2008 with his family, Jude continued to sing and play guitar and when he was 18, decided to train his voice professionally. Currently, Jude is being mentored and working with the recording artist Derrick Junkeer (Derrick J.) and plans to record an album directed and produced by him.
