It was little Lanka’s finest moment
And luverly cricket’s finest hour;
Standing tall Murali is among the galaxies;
A select band of reputed cricketing greats
Who have done their country proud. His steadfast commitment paid dividends

Many a time disgraced, despised by the Kangaroos
Subjected to humiliation, catcalls and boos
Now sharing his expertise with the tormentors
On his unique art of spin bowling versatility
With his friendly smile, bonhomie and camaraderie
