Rain prevents a decision at Pelawatta
A sudden deluge prevented a decision being reached in the Prima Trophy under 15 inter district cricket tournament match between Ampara and Batticaloa districts which was being played at the Pelawatta sugar corporation ground.
Batticaloa district electing to bat first were bowled out by Chamindu Sadushka (4/51) and Yasindu Ruwanga (3/36) for 126 runs in 23.2 overs. L Akash (32) and S Kakis (20) shared a 51 run partnership for the eighth wicket to help his team out from a precarious 61/7.
Ampara district lost their openers in the very first over and were 33/4 when rain put an end to further play.
