The clouds
The clouds
will suck water
When we put
clothes to dry
The clouds will
drain out water
When their tummies get full
They can make funny shapes
Like dinosaurs, witches and dragons
They amuse and make me laugh
When they change their shape
I like to shake hands with the clouds
But do they have hands?
It’s lucky for birds and kites
For they can feel them and say hello

For the love of nature
Nature is the most precious gift given to us. The natural environment is the things around us. It is our duty to save nature and look after it but unfortunately man is destroying it. Trees are very useful. Both man and animals cannot live without them. Man also pollutes the air with poisonous gases issued through the chimneys of large factories. It is not good for the atmosphere. Trees make the environment beautiful. The earth has become a cool, bright and beautiful place because of trees. Trees also stop soil erosion. Trees provide food, medicine, timber and shelter. Trees save us from the scorching rays of the sun. We get the most needed rain because of trees.
We should grow more trees. We should keep our gardens clean. Most people have not realized the value of a tree. If a tree is cut down we must grow another tree. If we protect nature, then nature will protect us. So we must love nature and protect our environment.

A ball speaks…
I am just a little ball
I am green in colour
My friend is a brown bat
Even though he hits me so hard
It doesn’t hurt me…
But it’s just fun always
I like it very much…
When he gives me a big shot
I run far away and hide
After meeting,
We are the best of friends again.

Trip to Anuradhapura
On Sunday morning, we decided to go on a trip to Anuradhapura in our father’s car. We packed our food, clothes and other necessary things. When we were going, we passed so many cities and towns. We soon overcame all the obstacles and there were four ways to reach Anuradhapura. At last we went to Anuradhapura. This place is a Buddhist place and it is situated in the north central part of our country. It is a tourism place.
In Anuradhapura, forests, temples, lakes and reservoirs are located. Books were written about Anuradhapura. First we went to see the lakes in Anuradhapura. We went to see the Abaya Wewa and we took photographs of it. Many tourists came to see the Abaya Wewa. Secondly we went to see reservoirs in Anuradhapura and thirdly we went to see the Jetawanaramaya, Thuparamaya and Ruwanweliseya. We took photographs and we worshipped.
We learnt about our great, ancient kings and what they have done for the betterment of this country, about tanks in the city, reservoirs in the city. And we were proud of our country because our kings had ruled intelligently.
We ate our meals and returned to our home by our father’s car very happily. I am proud to live in this country.
