“Kuweni” in Dehiwela

The new production of Henry Jayasena’s theatrical direction “Kuweni” which was originally released as an experimental play during the 1960s will be staged at 3.30 pm on September 17 at S De S Jayasinghe Theatre, Dehiwela.
The play won six awards including the best drama at the National Drama festival, and the new production will go on the boards under the direction of Samudra Jeewani Karunananda.
The play features Nimal Jayasinghe, Lalith Janakantha, Anil K. Wijesinghe, SaIiya liangakoon, Praba Dissanayake, Thilina Prabath, Tharanga Kumari and a number of other artistes . The music direction is by H. H. Bandara and lighting is handled by Gayan Nalaka and Upali Weerasinghe.
Sunil Hewavitharane is in charge of makeup department and Saliya Ilangakoon and Thilina Prabath stage management and the play is produced and organized by Jude Sirimal on behalf of Nirmala Prakashana.
