Windies Cricket Academy, Matale, Annual Awards Ceremony
Matale Windies Cricket Academy held its inaugural awards ceremony at the Grand City Hotel, Matale, amidst glamour and glitter on Saturday, August 27, with Sri Lanka Cricketer, Dhammika Prasad as the Chief Guest, and Assistant High Commissioner, Indian High Commission Kandy, Ms. Radha Venkataraman, as the Guest of Honour. Seventy-five budding young Cricketers of the Academy from 9 age categories (7-15) received Awards and Certificates of Excellence in recognition of their performance in the Inter-Academy Cricket Tournaments held during the period 2015-2016. In addition, the Windies CA Under (U)-15 team, who ended their first overseas tour of Malaysia on a winning note, were also honoured with a token of appreciation awarded to each member.
