‘Punchi Sithuge Sarungal Sawaariya,’ a children’s story by Pankaja Erandi Ranadheera was launched recently at the auditorium of the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development in Battaramulla. Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka was the chief guest at the ceremony.
Currently a Development Officer at the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development, Mrs. Ranadheera has a keen interest in children’s literature and in writing stories that are both entertaining and educational.
‘Punchi Sithuge Sarungal Sawariya’ revolves around the relationship between children and kites. The book is published by Godage Publications.
The author holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Languages from the University of Kelaniya and a Master’s Degree in Linguistics from the same university. She also holds a Diploma in Writership and Mass Communication from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
This is Mrs. Ranadheera’s second children’s book. Her first, ‘Kurulu Gamae Piyaaseriya,’ was published in 2014 also by Godage Publications.
