Tour de Lanka for contestants of Miss Intercontinental
View(s):Over 74 contestants from around the world will travel to Colombo for the event. Having competed with over 80 countries, it is a major feat for Sri Lanka to host the Miss Intercontinental pageant which is marking its 45th anniversary.
Prior to the grand finale in mid-October, the contestants will embark on a pre-pageant tour around Sri Lanka hosted by Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts from October 6th – 10th covering the country’s beaches, culture, heritage and wildlife.
On the first day the contestants will travel from Colombo to Habarana, visiting the rock temple in Dambulla enroute to Cinnamon Lodge Habarana. Their next excursion will be to Minneriya National Park which is home to a large number of Asian Elephants.
The next day, the contestants will see Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa. On day three, the group will visit a village in Hiriwadunna and then proceed to Trincomalee in time for lunch at Trinco Blu by Cinnamon.
Day four includes visits to the Koneshwaram Temple, Fort Frederick, Swami Rock and the many attractions within the city, before heading to Cinnamon Bey Beruwala via a chartered train.
Cinnamon Bey Beruwala will be transformed to become the home base for the Miss Intercontinental Pageant. The finale will feature a ‘fairy tale’ theme and performances from Apache Indian who came into fame with his smash-hit ‘Boom Shack A Lack’ and celebrated music artist Destiny. There will also be an exclusive after-party with more celebrity performances apart from the main events line up.
