Colombo to host region’s Internet experts at APNIC 42 conference
View(s):Over 200 local and international Internet specialists will converge in Colombo on October 3-5 for the APNIC 42 Conference at the Hilton Colombo. The conference is one of the Asia Pacific’s most important Internet events and is supported by local hosts Sri Lanka CERT|CC, as well as ICTA, LEARN, and CSSL, according to local organisers. Staff from governmental organisations, research and educational institutions, Internet service providers, data centres, Internet Exchange Points and online content providers from across the Asia Pacific will attend the 3-day meeting.
Internationally renowned speakers include Zaid Ali Kahn from LinkedIn, Internet Hall of Fame member Geoff Huston, Farsight Security’s Merike Kaeo, Anurag Bhatia from Hurricane Electric, and many more. Presentations will cover topics such as Internet security, the latest in internet infrastructure technologies and operations, women in ICT and more. Paul Wilson, Director General of APNIC, said: “This is the first time the APNIC conference has been held in Sri Lanka. I encourage all of Sri Lanka’s network operators and technical specialists to take the opportunity of having the conference in Colombo to attend and share their experiences with some of the world’s foremost experts.”
