‘Dhikthala Kaalagola’ A play with popular music

“Dhikthala Kaalagola” Punyasena Gunasinghe’s ever popular play will be staged at 8.15 am and 10.45 am on October 7 at Maliyadeva Girls School auditorium in Kurunegala.
The play introduced a number of popular songs to Sri Lankan theatre and music and the play is included in the Theatre and Drama syllabus of the GCE Ordinary Level exam.
It stars Richard Maanamudali, Jayanath Bandara, Thushari Gunarathne, Isuru Weerasinghe, Upali Bandara, Upali Thiwanka Hewage, Saman Nishantha Gunasinghe, Ranjitha Ranaweera and Rohana Wijaya Sri
Music and lyrics by late arts guru Charles Silva Gunasinghe while music direction and production done by Punyasena Gunasinghe. Mahendra Gunasinghe and Nandana Munasinghe will contribute towards the play with their drum music while costume design and lighting by S.H. Sarath and Mihindu Madushanka respectively.
