Celebrating 125 years, the principal, staff, present and past students of Musaeus College have organised  ‘Founders Walk’ and true to their theme are preparing to ‘Paint the City Blue’ on Saturday, October 8.

The organising committee promises this year’s walk will be unique with horse riders, marathon runners, cyclists, a 20ft long school flag carried by the prefects, floats carrying portraits of the founders, car parades, papare bands providing music and their main focus, the gigantic balloon arches.

The parade will start from Musaeus College at 8.30 a.m. and will move along Alexandra Place, Town Hall, around Viharamahadevi Park, Independence Avenue, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Longdon Place ending at the CR & FC grounds followed by a mini carnival.

The carnival will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be a dog show, musical show and much more. The parade celebrates the founding spirit of the school, which was captured by their founder Mrs. Marie Musaeus Higgins “ My daughters, go forward to your great destiny, go forward with courage; Do not falter by the way in your life’s mission; educate yourselves.”

All proceeds from this event will be channelled towards the development of the school and sports projects, undertaken by the Past Pupils’ Association.
