Kelly Clarkson the very first American Idol winner is to release new music which will reflect her own creative style. Reports from the US say the 34 year old is set to release her ninth album next year on the Atlantic label. Clarkson was tied to an eight album contract under the Idol win rule which was with RCA and she had a feud the label chief Clive Davis over the direction of her music. Clarkson has sold over 25 million records and is a multi award winning artist.
Bruno Mars is back with a new song titled ‘24K Magic’. The new single which was released on 7th October is the lead track from his forthcoming third album.
James Arthur the former X-Factor winner has emerged once again as a winner after being literally sidelined. He took to the No: 1 position on the UK singles chart with ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ a week after the song debuted at the No: 2 behind the Chainsmokers ‘Closer’. The soothing acoustic guitar driven song ended the four week chart reign by the Chainsmokers. ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ is the debut release from James Arthur’s next album ‘Back From The Edge’. This week ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ combined sales of 85,000. Arthur co-wrote the song with Steve Soloman and Neil Ormandy. The Yorkshire born singer is now with Columbia records after he was dropped by Syco following several controversies. The current hit is his third top 10 UK song and his second No: 1 on home ground. That first chart topper was hot on the heels of his X-Factor win in 2012.
Weeknd, the Canadian singer has the highest new entry on the UK singles chart as ‘Starboy’ debuted at the No:3 spot. The song features the French electronic duo Daft Punk. ‘Starboy’ is an electro pop track which is also the title track of Weeknd’s next album. The song is Weeknd’s third UK top 10 hit. The artist’s actual name is Abel Tesfaye.
One member of the US all girl group Fifth Harmonyhad shocking experience while performing last week. Ally Brook was knocked to the floor by an excited fan that rushed to the stage and hugged Brooke. While the singer was floored, she quickly composed herself and continued singing. The incident took place while Fifth Harmony was performing at the Auditorio Banamex in Monterry, Mexico.

Nial Horan has become the first One Direction member to release a solo single. ‘This Town’ is an acoustic song produced by Greg Karstin. Horan is the only Irish member of One Direction which is taking a hiatus. He has signed a record deal with Capitol Records in the US and Virgin EMI in the UK.
Pop star John Legend is to open a renovated theatre today October 9, in his hometown of Springfield, Ohio in the US. The theatre is to be named after him after he donated $500,000 towards the restoration of the 680 seat venue. Legend is also due to perform at the event
