‘Nela’; Benette focuses on a triangular love

Internationally awarded filmmaker Benette Ratnayake’s latest film ‘Nela’ has completed its post production and it is ready for release. Famed for his acclaimed directions ‘Aswesuma’, ‘Sulanga’ and ‘Ira Handa Yata’, ‘Nela’ revolves around a triangular love story.The film stars Shalini Tharaka, Udara Ratnayake, Tharuka Wanniarachchi, Thumindu Dodentenna, Udari Perera, Roshan Pilapitiya, Semini Iddamalgoda, Palitha Perera, Pushpalani Sathya, Anura Dharmasiriwardena, Trini Waas and Timothy Oneli.
Set in the early 20th century, ‘Nela’ tells the story of innocent lovers, George and Nela. Their love is disturbed with the unexpected intrusion of Dr. Tudor. This unravels the reality of true love and the film is to take the viewers to a different level of love which is genuine and spiritual. It shows how a strong relationship can be developed between two human beings.
Cinematographed by Ruwan Costa, art director is Lal Harindranath, make up by Priyantha Disanayake, edited by Ajith Ramanayake and music is directed by Suresh Maliyadda. Co-produced by H. D. Premasiri, Charith Nagodavithana, Dilan Fernando and produced by Samanmalee Hewamanna, ‘Nela’ is screenplay written and directed by Benette Ratnayake.
