Ernst and Young, Chartered Accountants, has written to us in reference to our page 1 story last week “Another scandal reported at HSBC; forex law violations under probe” where it was stated that the firm was the auditors of HSBC.

The firm states that they have not been the auditors of HSBC for over the past decade.
