Intercontinental beauties get a taste of Sri Lanka

Adding another feather to the cap of Sri Lanka’s tourism hospitality industry, on Sunday, October 16, Sri Lanka will host one of the three top rated beauty pageants in the world, the Dulux Ambiance Miss Intercontinental 2016.On Wednesday, some of the beauty queens from 70 different countries who arrived in Colombo earlier this week were at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel enjoying a taste of Lankan hospitality.
The contestants are now on a tour of some of the country’s exotic attractions to gain an idea of Lankan life and culture.
Among the mini-titles, the contestants will also be competing for the Miss Popular award, which will be given to the one most active in social media and who comes up with best tweets.
Fox TV is filming the beauty queens’ entire journey, an extra fillip for Sri Lanka’s tourism sector.
