NOT DONE SIR!
View(s):Ever heard of 125 pressmen being cuddled into a press box? This happened at the recent Sports Festival in the North. The press box was about the size of a 10 ft X 10 ft box, which was adequate for two pressmen, the most. Added to that there were two girls also in it doing official work for the Ministry concerned. Journalists were seen working on their lap tops at various corners of the grounds. This is not the way to treat the press, Sir!
NO CLUE TO 100 METRES
An official of the Ministry concerned in Sports had inquired from a judge how many rounds an athlete should do to complete 100 metres! This is the kind of officials that are being recruited to officiate at sports meet and a national one at that. The official concerned happens to be a secretary of the ministry concerned and is also a Doctor to boot.
NOT A BAD DEAL
There is this story doing the rounds that several foreign coaches are to be recruited to a popular sport in the near future. However the man who is entrusted with picking the foreign coaches is said to be receiving ten percent of the amount to be paid to the coaches. Not a bad deal ah!
RUNNING IN CIRCLES
A key sport which had brought several international medals to the country is practically broke now. They even have difficulties in paying the salaries for the two female employees. CUTTING DOWN ON STAFF
There is a wild rumour, which could be true, that is being circulated that a popular sports body wants to cut down on the present staff and the contracts of staff will not be renewed! Altogether 160 are to be axed and those who are to be chopped are wondering what future awaits them.
MONKEY PRAISING ITS OWN TAIL
Also on the same sport, two new people are to be recruited at a cost of Rs. 50,000 a month to write articles to the WEB. This apparently has been Okayed by the chief. It looks as if the articles will be mainly on the chief himself.
St. Jail at work
Telling Parents on what to wear is one thing but asking parents to sign a code of conduct is a new thing advised by Hernando to the school big bosses . The leaked draft states that parents cannot question the decision on team selection, imports and are barred from talking to the media. They better note the recent judgment of the Highest Court about talking to the media.
Back to Mariakade
Recently a school once known as “Mariakade” seems to be getting back to the style. In gangster style the young 13 years and under were told that they must win matches and that is the objective and if they cannot they will import and not to protest. Parents are much agitated as this is perverting and abusing the minds of the small boys. This is not cricket they say and is worse than a sleeveless Jacket that is banned. What about our children is what they are asking the Cardinal one whose talking more about the constitution of the country while the flock are abusing the young that are protected by the same constitution.
