WCIC appoints Rifa Musthapha as Chairperson for second term
View(s):The Women’s Chamber of Industries and Commerce (WCIC) Annual General Meeting which took place on September 16, 2016 was graced by the US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Atul Keshap. The highlight of the WCIC President Rifa Musthapha’s address was the fruition of WCIC’s long awaited dream – the construction of the WCIC Secretariat. With the kind intervention of Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka, the WCIC has been presented 8.9 perches of land at Perahera Mawatha, Colombo 3 to construct a customised headquarters.
This building will be dedicated to the women of Sri Lanka, enabling them to aspire to higher realms and wider goals keeping in line with the vision of WCIC, which is to come together as an organisation of business and professional women to help urban and rural women develop their entrepreneurial skills to better their living standards, the chamber said in a media release.
