Day of Unity with German Ambassador

At a glittering event which the new German Ambassador Jorn Rohde hosted on Wednesday, October 5, in the North Lawn of Taj Samudra to celebrate the twenty sixth Day of German Unity, he said that President Maitripala Sirisena to whom he presented his credentials that morning told him that he has come to a beautiful country.
He was not the only one but nearly 1,50,000 German tourists who have arrived up to now this year have found Sri Lanka a fascinating destination. They come initially as tourists and follow up as business investors. Or, revisit to set up charities upon their own initiatives as over 500 such private initiatives are active at present.
The Ambassador said he is happy to be in Sri Lanka at an exciting juncture in the bilateral relationship between German and Sri Lanka.
