Ameen 9/74 spins St. Peter’s to second successive win

Left arm spinner Mohamed Ameen ended with a match bag of 9 for 74 helping St. Peter’s to record a convincing ten wicket win over Maris Stella Negombo at Bambalapitiya yesterday.

Maris Stella batting first was all out for 167. For the Petes left arm spinner Ameen captured 5 for 35. Made to follow on with a deficit of 124 runs Maris Stella fared no better as Ameen tormented them again. This time Ameen returned with figures of 4 for 39. Ameen was ably assisted by Chathura Obeysekera (3 for 72) and Ravindu Silva (2 for 6). Maris Stella in their second essay were all out for 151.
