Jazz with Mal Jennings at CR & FC

Trumpeter Mal Jennings from Australia will come alive with Jazz at the CR & FC grounds on the 26th of October.Having successfully concluded many Jazz related events through the years, Mount Lavinia Hotel is excited to be a part of this initiative. Groove to the smooth Jazz tunes of a performer of many traits who went on to record his own original tunes.
Mainly interested in playing traditional Jazz and as the founder of ‘Mal Jennings Jazz Giants’, he recorded some original tunes with the ‘Up the River Jazz Band’ and released a compilation of Jazz performances in 2008 dating back to 1967.
Backup band for the evening will consist of Kuma de Silva on Piano, Dulip Gnanakan Bass, Shiraz Noorhameethon Jazz drums, Naveen Fernando on Trumpet and Rodney Vanheer on Tenor Saxophone.
The main partners of this event will be Jazz Unlimited, Mount Lavinia Hotel together with CR & FC as the venue partner.
Tickets are priced at Rs. 500/- for the public and priced at a special rate of Rs. 250/- for all CR & FC members (each member is entitled to bring two guests)
upon production of membership card.
