Launch of online entertainment portal bookmyshow.lk

The launch of ‘bookmyshow.lk’, Sri Lanka’s latest online movie ticketing and entertainment portal, sees the dawn of a new age for movie goers in Sri Lanka.
In an effort to help revive a flagging industry with extra ticket sales, bookmyshow.lk conveniently provides e-booking and ticketing solutions for 14 cinemas located in major cities including Colombo, Dehiwala, Moratuwa, Dematagoda, Rathnapura, Ja-ela, Galle, Ambalangoda, Kurunegala and Kadawatha. The site consists of a comprehensive and user friendly booking system, while featuring all show times and trailers for upcoming movies.
“The objective of the management team behind bookmyshow.lk is to uplift the movie industry in Sri Lanka to international standards, with the first step being an online portal that acts as a great point-of-sales system for cinemas across the country, while being much more than just an e-ticketing solutions provider” Raveen Wickremasinghe Director of bookmyshow.lk said. “The site provides opportunities for small, medium and large organisations alike to promote their products and services to the typically young – middle aged movie going market through advertisements and by conducting a variety of combo promotions and ticket giveaways,” Mr. Wickremasinghe added.
“We have long term plans to expand the portfolio of services provided on the site in the near future and would like to invite any interested individual or organization to become a stakeholder in this exciting new venture,” he describing about the future of this venture.
The initial launch of bookmyshow.lk would be on a web based platform, with ios and Android based apps to follows shortly after.
