MAS Slimline, MAS Unichela in line

The Men's Bantamweight final
Two clusters of MAS Holdings defending champions in the men’s category MAS Slimline Pannala and MAS Unichela Panadura was in line to emerge champions of the men’s and women’s categories at the 89th ABA Men’s and Women’s Clifford Boxing Championship which was in progress at the Royal College Boxing Arena in Reid Avenue.
Defending champions MAS Slimline had won four bouts and close in second was Navy BC with two wins while MAS Unichela was way ahead of the rest in the women’s category having won five bouts at the time of going to press.
The winners for MAS Slimline were P.D. Suresh who received a walk over in the Bantamweight bout, N.G.S. Jayaweera (Lightweight 60kg), P.V.D.D. Saparamadu (Lightweight 64kg) and G.T.R. Madusanka (Light Heavyweight 81kg).
In the women’s category the winners for MAS Unichela were (A.A.K. Nilmini (Light Flyweight 45kg), J.A.D. Jayasinghe (Flyweight 51kg), K.A.D. Dharmatilleke (Featherweight 57kg), H.M.K.G.L. Udayangani (Light Welterweight 64kg) and P.C.K. Jayasekera (Welterweight 69kg).
