Auditor General: Facts will be out within a few days

Auditor General Gamini Wijesinghe said the truth regarding the allegations that he was put under duress by UNP MPs on the COPE will come to light once the verbatim reports of the Committee that inquired into the Treasury bond issue are made public.
This is intended to clarify reports that he was put under duress by UNP’s COPE MPs owho did not agree with his findings on the Central Bank bond issue.
“The facts will come out within a few days once the reports are made public,” Mr. Wijesinghe said.
Joint Opposition (JO) members and others have alleged that the some UNP COPE members had been disrespectful towards the AG during committee meetings as they did not agree with his findings on the bond issue.
The AG’s report was tabled along with the main COPE report in Parliament on Friday.
