Lanka’s research in ergonomics highlighted in WORK
View(s):The recent issue of WORK, A Journal of Prevention, Assessment & Rehabilitation carries a special edition dedicated to Sri Lanka’s research on ergonomics. The Expert Committee on Ergonomics of the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA – ECE) was involved in this edition which includes eight articles from local authors.
Guest editors of the edition titled “Ergonomics and Work in Sri Lanka” are Dr. Kapila Jayaratne (Consultant Community Physician and the chairperson of SLMA – ECE), Dr. Manjula Danansuriya (Consultant Community Physician) and Dr. Chamaine De Silva (Convener – SLMA – ECE).

WORK is an interdisciplinary, international journal which publishes high quality peer-reviewed manuscripts covering the entire scope of the occupation of work. Addressing the need for inculcating ergonomics in the country setting, this section on Work and Ergonomics in Sri Lanka is the first-ever health-led knowledge synthesis in the evolving discipline of ergonomics in the country.
