A student of Chundikuli Girls’ College, Jaffna — Arshika Vijayabaskar studying in grade 10 has secured a bronze medal for Women’s Weightlifting 58kg category at the 2016 International Weightlifting Federation Youth World Championship in Malaysia. She is the second person who has represented Sri Lanka at the International level from Chundikuli Girls’ College in sports after Selva Gowri in 1980’s who represented Sri Lanka in the athletics at the Asian Games and won a silver medal for Hurdles.
