A felicitation and re-union get-together will be held at the Waters Edge on November 3, 2016 for the Prince of Wales cricket team that won the big match ‘Battle of the Golds’ in 1977 which was the last occasion Cambrians won the big encounter.

This strong all-round side included many cricketers who represented the national side headed by Amal Silva. Stylish right handed batsman late Wirantha Fernando and all-rounder Pemlal Fernando played in the inaugural Sri Lanka-Pakistan Under 19 cricket encounter for the Ali Bhutto Trophy captained by the late Anura Ranasinghe which Sri Lanka won.

The event is organised by former Cambrian Harsha De Silva, Managing Director of Pack World (Pvt.) Ltd.  - Lakshman Ranasinghe
